本·麦克法兰 came to 西雅图 Pacific after studying Biomolecular Structure 和 Design at the University of Washington 和 completing a post-doctoral fellowship in Structural Immunology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer 研究 Center. His research has studied the binding of MHC molecules to peptides 和 MIC-A proteins to NKG2D immunoreceptors.
Dr. 麦克法兰’s teaching 和 research focus on the structural aspects of protein biochemistry 和 design. His team of undergraduate students has accomplished protein production 和 design in the teaching 和 research labs at SPU, 和 have made new molecules with enhanced binding functions. This research has been funded by the NIH 和 NSF.
Dr. 麦克法兰 writes about science for general audiences, including the book A World from Dust (Oxford University Press) 和 related book chapters. He is also a member of the BioLogos Voices speakers bureau.
