Undergraduate teacher candidates complete all requirements for a bachelor’s degree in addition to the requirements for the P–12 Residency Teacher Certification Program. 音乐 majors with an emphasis in 音乐 Education are prepared to meet endorsement requirements for choral/vocal, 仪器, 和/或一般的音乐代言. Courses are specially designed to meet state education requirements while also addressing music areas of specialization, such as “音乐 in Special Education” and “音乐 Technology” courses.
The BA in 音乐 Education includes both a rigorous music program and the education coursework and internship for Washington P–12 music teaching certification.

Note that the University encourages you to enter your chosen major(s) and minor(s) by the start of your junior year. Students who transfer as juniors and seniors should enter a major within their first two quarters at SPU.
